Object description

Armourers on board a bomb scow attach two 450-lb Depth Charges to the starboard-side mobile bomb rack of a Short Sunderland of No. 95 Squadron RAF, moored in Fourah Bay, Freetown, Sierra Leone. The outer bomb has been fitted with a detachable nose fairing and tail fin, which improved the weapon's ballistics and reduced drag while being carried externally.
