Object description
War workers queue to collect their lunchtime meal from the counter at the canteen of a Royal Ordnance Factory, somewhere in Britain. They are queuing for 'dinner' on the right, and are about to move across to the left to collect their 'sweet'. 'In' and 'Out' barriers help to keep the queue flowing. A poster in the centre advertises a boxing tournament which is due to be held at 'Town Hall W A' on Thursday 17 September. In addition, above each of the serving hatches is a notice stating that payment for food is by ticket only and no money is accepted.
