Object description

Science students at work in the laboratory at the US Army University, Shrivenham. Left to right, they are: Staff Sergeant William F Lowdermilk (back to camera, wearing a flying jacket with the words 'Strip for Action' on the back), Barbara L Royea and Pfc Leo Reilly. S/Sgt Lowdermilk is on leave from 96th Bombardment Group. Barbara Royea is taking a break from her work at the US Air Transport Command base at Bovingdon to study chemistry and biology: she wants to become a nurse. Pfc Reilly, serving with 82nd Airborne Division, was a pre-medical student before the war and wishes to continue with his chosen profession.
