Object description
16 year old Patricia D Harding (centre right), a typist telephonist for a building contractor, receives her new blue (adult) Identity Card from a Ministry of Labour official at the Labour Exchange, Islington. According to the original caption, she goes to evening classes and is a member of a London girls' club called the 'Copenhagen Recreation Club'. Many other girls can be seen in the background, waiting their turn at the desk. Various posters are also visible around the room, encouraging people to join up to serve in the forces.
