Object description
Before the match between Fairey and AV Roe can begin, the referee, W H Dupois, oversees the coin toss. The AV Roe captain, Peggy Nuttall (right, wearing white), throws the coin, whilst Fairey captain Alice Cocker (left, wearing striped jersey), calls. The match is taking place on the snow-covered pitch at the Manchester Athletic Club ground at Fallowfield.
