Private Williams and her Auxiliary Territorial Service colleagues enjoy a walk through the sunny kitchen garden of their hostess, Mrs Coker (right), during a garden party. Mrs Coker is the head of the local Women's Voluntary Service (WVS) and has organised this garden party for women of the ATS, many of whom are from the West Indies.
