Reverend Joseph Stephens leads his congregation in prayer during a service at St Mark's Church, Silvertown. The services are held in a curtained off section of a side chapel in the church, as much of the building was damaged during the Blitz. According to the original caption, "average attendance at evensong at 3:30pm is 15, at Holy Communion at 10am, 10. Sunday school is at 2:30pm".
