Object description
On a beach near their camp at Burton Bradstock (possibly Burton Beach or Burton Freshwater), American troops visit the barber in the early evening sunshine. Amateur barber T/5 John G Artie (of Edison Avenue, Menlo Park, New Jersey) clips the hair of T/5 John B Rada (of 103 Stone Avenue, Greenville, South Indiana), who is sitting on a rock, in lieu of a barber's chair. Waiting their turn are: T/4 George Keister (of Fort Wayne, Indiana), T/5 H R Sullivan (of Hodges, Alabama), Pfc Herbert A Eberhardy (of Marshfield, Wisconsin), Private Stanley T Miller (of Axtel, Kentucky), T/5 G R Miller (of 4106 Vermont Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky), Pfc James Crane (of Harding, Missouri) and Pfc W W Johnson (of Bluefield, West Virginia).
