A preparatory school for younger boys is held at Gilling Castle, three miles from Ampleforth, to prepare boys for entrance to Ampleforth College at the age of twelve. Here we see young boys in their school uniform in the playroom at Gilling Castle, the ancestral home of the Fairfaxes, a well-known Catholic family.
