Object description
Two members of the ATS count their change after buying tickets at the No. 1 Box Office at the New Theatre on St Martin's Lane in London. Behind them, men and women queue to buy tickets. A sign above a doorway directs people to the stalls and dress circle, numbers 1 to 12. According to the original caption "the operas are so popular that it is very difficult to get seats on the night of the performance".
