Object description

GIs sort through items of clothing and other supplies, destined for local camps, at an American Army store, somewhere in Britain. Amongst the goods required for this order are bolts, electric irons, sheets, gloves, socks, underwear and matches. Checking the tally sheets in the foreground is Pfc James L Tinsley (of 208 Charlotte Street, Lynchburg, Virginia). Behind the counter, are Private Homer W McClendon (left, back to camera, of Guntesville, Alabama) and Pfc Joseph Klein (right, wearing glasses, of 1605 Walton Avenue, The Bronx, New York).
