Object description

A busy scene showing shoppers going about their daily business on Silver Street in Durham. On the left, the clothing store 'Burton' can be seen. In the background, at the end of the street is the Castle Hotel and a shop named 'W Duncan'. On the right hand side, shops include Pullar's Dye Works and Boot's the Chemist. The Queen's Head Hotel is also visible as is a sign for an air raid shelter.
