Object description
Sir Hassan Suhrawardy, Adviser to the Secretary of State for India, stands at a microphone as he speaks to the audience which lines the narrow Peel Street, during the civil opening ceremony of the new Mosque. Behind the audience, the densely-packed terraced houses of the street can be clearly seen, with some of the inhabitants watching the proceedings from their upstairs windows.
