Miss Vermullen, expert dietician, hands bread rolls to an orderly to be taken to the patients at the American Hospital. According to the original caption "the food is carefully weighed and graded before it reaches the patients". The photograph was taken in the kitchen and another orderly can be seen in the background. The food is taken around the wards in specially heated trollies.
