Object description

It is 6pm on Sunday evening and French Canadian soldiers attend the Benediction, the last service of their weekend retreat at Campion House. Father Dugre displays the Host to the kneeling congregation. The Host is kept in a Monstrance which is studded with 1300 separate jewels, which, according to the original caption "have been offered as a sacrifice to the Blessed Sacrament by men and women from all over England".
