Object description

A view of an x-ray in progress in a makeshift clinic in the shelter canteen of this factory, somewhere on the outskirts of London. A worker is told to take a deep breath an hold it whilst the x-ray is taken by the control table operator (not visible in photograph). The nurse who positions people in the right place for their x-ray, stands behind a protective screen, in order to avoid over exposure. Other workers queue up, ready for their turn to be x-rayed.
