Mrs Bounds (nearest camera) and her colleagues are the second link in the chain of breech block production. They are working at horizontal millers in a small engineering works, somewhere in the South of England and are engaged in the milling of breech blocks, which have been transported there from a small factory in Welwyn Garden City. According to the original caption, Mrs Bounds is an ex-bus conductor and her husband is serving in the Middle East.
