Richard Pates, 25 year old Merchant Seaman, enjoys a glass of beer whilst listening to Adele Dixon sing at the Merchant Navy Club in Piccadilly. Behind Adele, the hostess, Doris Hare, can be seen, running order in hand. The room has an ornate ceiling and brightly coloured bunting has been strung around the room. Several other people can be seen listening to the performance.
