Object description
A group of smiling children sit at a table and eat cheese imported from America as part of the Lend-Lease scheme in the playground of a severely bomb-damaged school. The school is now being used as a feeding centre. Piles of salvaged wood can be seen just behind the children. This photograph was probably taken in late August or early September 1941.
