Object description

Mrs Scott looks on as a young pupil at the village school stands in front of the blackboard to display his poster to the rest of the class. They have all been working on producing posters as part of a competition organised by the National Savings Committee. The best of these posters will be sent to London to be judged as part of the competition. His poster features a battleship and the words 'This [Savings Stamp] grows to this [battleship]'. A poster on the blackboard encourages citizens to 'Join the Crusade for National Savings Certificates'. According to the original caption, the poster in the foreground reads 'Let's Lend our Money, We'll Win the War'.
