Civilian contractors using a reconditioned former German military lorry to clear rubble from bomb damaged buildings in Vienna. Over 500 such vehicles, captured by British forces in Italy and Austria, were sent to Vienna by rail for reconditioning at the Steyr Motor Works and fitting with a 1.5 ton body. They were then handed over to the Austrian Government for distribution amongst civilian operators to help ease the acute shortage of road transport in Austria.
