Object description

The supply of refreshments at this North London air raid shelter is the responsibility of one of the shelterers, who volunteered to sell tea, fruit, sandwiches, buns and cakes to fellow shelterers at cost price. This shelter is in the basement of a large textile store or drapery shop in North London and the photograph was taken in November 1940.
