An American C 54 Skymaster transport aircraft coming in to land at Celle airfield in Germany, watched by a crowd of people. Celle, which had been a German Luftwaffe base during the Second World War, was located in the British sector of Germany. The Royal Air Force extended the runway to allow American C 54 aircraft to use the base as well.
