Royal Marines ensure quick turn round for supply craft to Normandy at Southampton. A special party of Royal Marines stand ready to make quick repairs to the hards should any of the invasion ships damage these prepared loading-runways. Here a new slab of concrete is being wheeled down the runway to replace a damaged one.
