The Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, landing at Reykjavik, Iceland where he was apparently given an enthusiastic welcome. Behind him on the gangway of the destroyer is Ensign Franklin Roosevelt, younger son of President Roosevelt. Mr Churchill left the following day after addressing cheering Icelanders, he told them that Great Britain and America would defend Iceland and after the war assume her independence.
