FROM 3 OCTOBER 1945, ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER HMS INDOMITABLE AT SYDNEY HARBOUR AND ON THE JOURNEY BACK TO THE UNITED KINGDOM FOR "DEMOBS" OF THE BRITISH PACIFIC FLEET, PRISONERS OF WAR, AND WOMEN INTERNEES FROM JAPANESE CAMPS. THE FLIGHT DECK OF THE INDOMITABLE WAS USED AS A HUGE SPORTING FACILITY FOR THE MEN ON THE JOURNEY BACK.
