HMS ILLUSTRIOUS "SUICIDE BOMBED". JUNE 1945, ON BOARD HMS ILLUSTRIOUS. DURING BRITISH PACIFIC FLEET OPERATIONS THE ILLUSTRIOUS EXPERIENCED A JAPANESE SUICIDE ATTACK. THE AIRPLANE SCRAPED THE BRIDGE WITH ITS WING AND CRASHED IN THE SEA.

The Japanese aircraft diving on the ILLUSTRIOUS. It dived out of the clouds on the port bow and from the time it emerged from the clouds until the time it hit the water was only 11 seconds.
