Admiral Andrew Cunningham, the First Sea Lord, decorating a Lieutenant of the Polish Navy during a ceremony at Admiralty House, 2 November 1943. Admiral Jerzy Świrski, the C-in-C of the Polish Nav, is present in the group of Allied officers in the background. The army oficer on the left is a major of the Polish Army.

Object description

The decorated officer might be Lieutenant Marian Kadulski of the Polish Navy destroyer ORP Błyskawica (Lightning), decorated with the Distinguished Service Order during this ceremony.
