The Belgian section leader Corporal Eugene Lauwereins chooses a small team of scouts who start on their reconnaissance. They advance into position. A Tommy gunner crawls up to position. The platoon on a bayonet charge. A fire burns in a gorse bush, caused by a Very light. "Germans" and instructors beat out the flames. Platoon leader Captain G A Ashcroft talking to the platoon. A parade is dismissed and the men dash to the lorries and board. The lorries depart. A bugler calls parade. Infantry are fired upon from an enemy bungalow and dive for cover. A rifleman in position. A rifleman firing in position as a section moves around. The rifle section advances at the double to take up new positions. The flanking party advance through a smokescreen. A room-by-room search is carried out. A Bren carrier driver applies wet cocoa as camouflage. The training sergeant gives instructions. A party camouflages their helmets.
