Object description

Film consisting of songs sung by the Polish Army Choir.

Full description

The idea of this film is that the songs of different nations mirror their people, with Poland and the Polish Army Choir being used as an example. They are shown singing 'the Soldier's Lot', the Scottish song 'We Are A Hundred Pipers', a gay Polish folk song and the Sobieski march. The film was made whilst Poland was an occupied country, when to sing Polish songs meant either death or a concentration camp. The soldiers' singing is therefore intercut with shots of the people and conditions of Poland.
