Shots from a small craft to HMS Victorious lying in anchorage. Onboard the carrier one of the Swordfish used in the attacks on the Bismarck is inspected by its pilot Lieutenant Ediber, who points out the damage inflicted by enemy AA fire - one bullet has passed through the roundel on the aircraft's side. Lieutenant Ediber says that this was the first chance to have "a crack at the Huns, and we're all very glad that we had such a really good target". Cut to MS of HMS Norfolk at anchor and scene onboard as crew clean guns of Y turret. Captain Phillips says a few words, and crew cheer enthusiastically. Leading Signalman White gives his account to more cheers from the crew. Scene shifts to HMS Rodney, where 16-inch shells are being taken onboard from a motor vessel alongside. CU of minor blast damage on the 16-inch gun barrels. A crewman gives a brief description of the action. 'Bismarck 1941' is added to the ship's battle honours. LA.MS of HMS Dorsetshire as she lies alongside - Captain Martin is congratulated and the crew give thumbs up to the cameraman. Cut to 'action' sequence, which includes shots of Renown and King George V (and Repulse) at sea, and 15-inch and 6-inch guns firing, intercut with XLS sequence showing Bismarck under fire in the closing stages of the battle. Back in England, rescued German seamen come ashore from a small steamer - one is carried pick-a-back up the gangway, and other wounded men are helped into an ambulance. Cut to MS off the starboard bow of anchored Rodney - onboard, Captain Dalrymple-Hamilton poses with A V Alexander. The assembled crew are addressed by the First Lord who praises the "British Royal Navy" - the crew cheer in return.
