Object description

Army Instructional film on the importance of physical fitness. Soldiers undergoing basic training build up their fitness progressively in the gym and through assault courses and exercises designed to suit their specific job, and are tested to assess their progress. Soldiers of the Royal Engineers, Royal Armoured Corps, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Royal Army Service Corps, Royal Army Medical Corps and Special Air Service are shown demonstrating the need for fitness both in carrying out their individual duties and in meeting the demands of prolonged combat situations.
