Photocopy of a short but well-written and informative ts memoir (13pp) entitled 'Bath Bombing', concerning the author's involvement with Civil Defence when he was appointed as ARP Post Warden for the Coronation Avenue section of the City of Bath, with detailed descriptions of the events of 25-27 April 1942 when air raids destroyed much of the City and with references to his responsibilities for patrolling the area, observing bombs falling on other parts of the City, the damage to his family's shop and Post Office, assisting in a recovery party to help civilian casualties and recover bodies after several houses were destroyed, assisting with the removal of the wounded following a direct hit on the Scala cinema shelter, extinguishing incendiary bombs and witnessing many residents leaving the City on foot, following the devastating raids. The account is illustrated with copies of photos of the ARP wardens and bomb fragments.
