46 ts intelligence reports created by him as Assistant Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force (March 1944 - April 1945) giving information on aspects of German military strength, weapons and equipment, tactics, intelligence sources, political and economical situations, morale, enemy reactions to the Allied invasion of Normandy, and summaries of the land, sea and air operations throughout Europe; together with ts warrants, citations and other tributes which accompanied the honours and decorations awarded to him (January 1942 - October 1968), and three files of papers collated by him during his research for his autobiographies, including original documents, historical notes, and correspondence (1937 - 1981), in particular notes on aspects of wartime and post-war intelligence, memories of serving with Eisenhower, 6 intelligence appreciations (September 1940 - February 1941) created by Strong while posted to MI14 (German Section, War Office), correspondence relating to strategy during the Battle of the Ardennes in December 1944, and photocopies of 4 ts letters from Eisenhower (March 1968 - March 1969). The collection also includes a ts autobiographical sketch of George Cunliffe McVittie, mathematician and brother-in-law to Strong, including details of his Second World War service for the Scientific Civil Service at GCHQ, Bletchley Park, engaged on meteorological work.
