Ms account (16pp) of two weeks spent in the Hammersmith district of London as a reinforcement ARP warden, 12 - 26 August 1944, describing the warm welcome which he received, the devastation caused by V1 flying bombs and the emergency civil defence measures taken in response to the bombing, together with a ts letter (1p, August 1944) from the Chief Warden of his home town of Castleford, Yorkshire offering appreciation for the warm reception given to Goodall in London, a ts letter (1p, November 1944) from the Chief Warden at Hammersmith thanking him for his assistance rendered, a cyclostyled ts letter (1p, October 1944) in which the Civil Defence Commissioner for the London Region thanks the Commissioner for the North Eastern Region for the assistance given by relief wardens from his area, and a copy (4pp) of "The Warden's Journal" for November 1944, containing an extended version of Goodall's narrative and additional material relating to the use of relief wardens from North East England during the London Blitz. Held with the collection are his ARP badge and Hammersmith shoulder flash.
