Ms War Diary (1p) of the 3rd Malayan Field Ambulance FMSVF for December 1941 compiled by West as its Commanding Officer during the first stages of the Malayan campaign and a linked summary (2pp, ts) of the unit's service in the remaining weeks of the campaign written by another of its officers in December 1945; together with an ms drawing of West doing his rounds in Palembang prisoner of war camp, Sumatra in 1944, a photocopy of a ts list (3pp) of the British male civilian internees in Muntok camp, Sumatra (1942 - 1944) with ms annotations showing deaths up to September 1944, and a photocopy of a ts letter (1p), dated September 1944, addressed to Dr West, as the British medical officer for the camp, expressing a patient's appreciation of his treatment in the camp hospital.
