Photocopy of extracts (pp76 - 100 only) from his rather anecdotal word processor memoirs covering his service as an able seaman in the cruiser HMS DUNEDIN on the Northern Patrol in the North Atlantic (September - December 1939), in the mine destructor vessel HMS QUEENWORTH operating in Home waters from May 1940 till she was sunk by German aircraft off Grimsby on 9 May 1941 and in the sloop HMS BANFF on convoy escort duty between the United Kingdom and West Africa from August 1941 until, despite his poor disciplinary record, he was recommended for specialist training in December 1942; his training as an ordnance mechanic at RN shore establishments in Hounslow and Southampton (February - July 1943) and service in this capacity in the cruiser HMS SCYLLA on Arctic convoy escort (spring 1944) and off the Normandy beachhead from D-Day till she was damaged by a mine on 23 June 1944 and in the cruiser HMS SIRIUS in the Eastern Mediterranean, Aegean and Adriatic (July 1944 - June 1945) before he returned home on indefinite leave; together with photocopies of a few related papers and photographs.
