Illustrated certificate issued to N Evans, an ordinary seaman serving in HMS NEWFOUNDLAND, the flagship of the 4th Cruiser Squadron, British Pacific Fleet to mark her presence at the unconditional surrender of Japan at Tokyo Bay on 2 September 1945; another illustrated certificate issued to P J Magee, also serving as an ordinary seaman in HMS NEWFOUNDLAND, to mark his attachment to the Tokyo Bay Occupation Force which had carried out the initial landing in the Tokyo Bay area on 30 August 1945; an anonymous contemporary ts account (3pp) of the activities of the members of the landing party from HMS NEWFOUNDLAND; and photocopies (5pp) of articles from issues of THE NEWFOUNDLAND TIMES during the 1990s relating to the ship's operations in Japanese waters in August 1945, the interception of the Japanese repatriate destroyer YOIZUKI in March 1946 and the scuttling of the Japanese cruiser TAKAO in October 1946
