Bound volume (321pp) containing a ts account (supported by numerous copies of documents and photographs) of his experiences in the RAF during the Second World War, as a Halifax navigator with 10 Squadron during the bombing raid on Trappes, near Paris, in June 1944, during which his aircraft was shot down, contact with and shelter by members of the local Resistance, capture by the Germans and imprisonment in Fresnes Prison after interrogation by the Gestapo, the evacuation of Fresnes in August 1944 and his transfer to Buchenwald, experiences in the camp with particular reference to the other Allied prisoners there (including the SOE personnel executed by the camp authorities), the bombing of the camp complex by USAAF aircraft on 24 August 1944 and its aftermath, release from Buchenwald in October 1944 and transfer to Stalag Luft III (Sagan), conditions in the camp prior to its evacuation in January 1945 and on the subsequent forced march westwards to Stalag Luft IIIA (Luckenwalde), liberation and repatriation, return to RAF service after the war, medical problems resulting from his wartime experiences and his attempts (from the mid-1960s to the late 1980s) to gain both compensation as a victim of Nazi persecution and a War Disability Pension, and his efforts to secure an appropriate commemoration of the SOE men executed in Buchenwald camp; folder of documents, mostly in photocopy form, relating to the Buchenwald camp during and after the war and particularly to the Allied servicemen held there; a copy of a published report on the 'Long-Term Effects of War-Related Deprivation on Health' (no date, ?1979): and other documents relating to Buchenwald, and to the "KLB Club", including two booklets and a typescript account.
