Interesting collection of papers relating to her service with the civilian branch of the War Office as an Examiner in the Postal Censorship (July 1916 - June 1919) and as a Temporary Woman Clerk (Linguistic) in the Prisoners of War Information Bureau (June 1919 - March 1920) including her ms notebook (177pp) containing training notes on postal censorship, German phrases and codes, translations of extracts from the letters of German prisoners of war, and lists of prisoners' names; a ts letter (1p) accepting her as a probationer in the Postal Censorship (July 1916), 2 ts certificates of employment issued by the War Office (June 1919 and February 1920); ts circular messages (4pp) from the Chief Postal Censor to his staff (November 1917 - January 1919) including references to the King's visit to the Postal Censorship Office (November 1917); a portrait photograph of her; and a published booklet (62pp) of photographs showing German POWs at various camps in Great Britain, including Alexandra Palace and Dorchester.
