3 small notebooks made and compiled by G A Monument when a prisoner of war (POW) of the Japanese (Changi, Singapore February - August 1942; Haito, Formosa August - November 1942; Yokohama November 1942 - August 1943, Tokyo August 1943 - May 1945, and Sendai May - September 1945, in Japan) containing various miscellaneous notes including poems, copious recipes, details of food, diet, personal weight, Red Cross parcels and medical treatment, notes on camp doctors, fellow POWs, deaths in Yokohama, and reading matter. [Monument was captured at the fall of Singapore while serving as a private in the RASC].
