3 interesting ms diaries (104pp, 153pp and 228pp, with partial 10pp wordprocessed transcript of entries for May 1915 - January 1916) kept by a staff nurse in the QAIMNS(R), May 1915 - January 1918, covering her initial voyage to Alexandria on the ORSOVA; her service in No 15 and No 19 Hospitals, Egypt; service in HMHS DEVANHA, June - September 1915 and October 1915 - June 1916 with particular reference to nursing casualties from the Dardanelles, conditions in other hospital ships in the Eastern Mediterranean and ashore at Cape Helles and Anzac Cove (including during the evacuation), the high death rate, evacuating Serbian refugees from Albania and transferring patients from Salonika and Bombay to Alexandria; service in HMHS DELTA in the Eastern Mediterranean and No 21 Hospital, Egypt, September - October 1915; service mainly at Kirkee, India, July - December 1916, including care of cholera cases and exchanged Kut prisoners; service at Basra and in a paddle steamer on the Tigris, January 1917 - January 1918, nursing medical cases and Turkish prisoners of war in extremes of temperature; there are also useful references to the survivors of torpedoed ships (July 1915 and April 1916), to the deaths of nurses and VADs (October 1915, April 1916, January 1918) and conditions generally in Egypt, Mesopotamia and India.
