Photocopy of ms diary (39pp), January 1942 - November 1943, of his experiences as a Conscientious Objector on religious grounds imprisoned, for refusing a medical examination, in Brixton, Wandsworth, and Wormwood Scrubs prisons, January - March 1942, then released by an Appeal Tribunal to undertake full-time social relief work which included running a boys club in London, and an appointment as Organised Games Leader in LCC Play Centres, March 1942 - November 1943, with at the end comments by his wife, Margaret, also a Conscientious Objector, on the first year of their marriage; together with a photocopy (15pp) of extracts from letters written by John Radford describing his experiences as a Conscientious Objector on religious grounds in the hands of the army which included beatings and other examples of ill-treatment until he was persuaded to join the Non Combatant Corps, September - October 1940.
